Choosing Long Beach Air Conditioners

February 21st, 2010

Long Beach air conditionersHeating & cooling systems can have a profound effect on the comfort level and quality of life within a home or business. The staff at Long Beach Air Conditioning understands how the right air conditioner and a well-serviced unit can facilitate clean indoor air quality and proper health.

Temperatures in Long Beach are fairly stable throughout the year, but the variance we experience occurs during the daily time cycle.  Typically, temperatures begin to rise around mid-morning and drop in the early evening.  We at Long Beach Air Conditioning understand the changes in intra-day climate and are ready to suggest the perfect system for your home’s configuration and your family’s needs.

One health benefit of air conditioning that’s rarely considered is its impact on indoor humidity.  Cooling air conditioning equipment usually reduces the humidity of the air processed by the system.  This can be beneficial for the young and elderly and those with respitory concerns.  Air conditioning can have a positive effect on sufferers of allergies and asthma.  And in serious heat waves, air conditioners can even save the lives of the elderly.

Air conditioning engineers broadly divide air conditioning applications into comfort and process. The balance between the delivery of comfort, ease of use, a beautiful aesthetic and energy efficiency depends on skilled training a current knowledge in the field of climate control. Innovation in air conditioning technologies continues, with much recent emphasis placed on energy efficiency, and on improving indoor air quality. We at Long Beach Air Conditioning pride ourselves in being on the cutting edge of home heating and cooling systems, and we’d like to demonstrate our commitment to you.  Please let us know what your needs are by using the Contact Us link at the top of the page.  We look forward to meeting your home and/or business comfort needs.

Air Conditioning in Long Beach – A History

February 21st, 2010

The staff at Long Beach Air Conditioning would like to share the deep history of air conditioning with you to share the rich tradition that our craft is built on. The idea of air conditioning was first implemented been in Ancient Rome where aqueduct water was passed through walls in some of the most affluent houses to cool them down.  More recently, the first modern electrical air conditioning unit was invented by Willis Carrier in 1902 in Buffalo, New York.  Later, Carrier’s technology was used to increase productivity in the industrial settings and the Carrier Air Conditioning Company was formed to meet rising demand of warm workplaces.

However, the phrase, “air conditioning”, was first coined by James Cramer when he used it in a patent claim he filed shortly after Carrier formed his climate control company for devices that opeerated similarly to “water conditioning”, then a well-known process for making textiles easier to process.  Air conditioners have come a long way since then. Innovation in air conditioning technologies continues with recent emphasis on energy efficiency, and on improving indoor air quality. The current push for green solutions is one that we embrace and insist upon at Long Beach Air Conditioning.

Nowadays, homeowners are discovering that “going green” has more benefits than simply saving the planet (particularly in the area of A/C systems). Green technology in heating and cooling units is a money-saving feature as well as being environmentally friendly. We’re happy to help you discover the right match of power and efficiency here at Long Beach Air Conditioning. So, if your current central air conditioning unit is more than 12 years old, replacing it with an ENERGY STAR qualified model could cut your cooling costs by 30% or more.
